Bret Steed is an active trombonist and music educator in the Oklahoma City area. A native of Idabel, Oklahoma, Steed holds a Master of Music degree in Jazz Studies from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance from Ouachita Baptist University.

Steed’s teaching career includes public school teaching in Oklahoma and Arkansas, trombone master classes in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas, jazz band clinics in Oklahoma, and an adjunct professor of music position at the University of Central Oklahoma teaching applied trombone. Steed loves teaching, and believes that there is no better feeling in the world than sharing his music, knowledge, and experiences with others.

Steed is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts Degree at the University of Oklahoma, and continues to maintain a busy performance and teaching schedule exclusively playing his XO trombone.
