Bio
Rob Opitz holds the titles of Director of Bands and Trumpet Instructor at Reinhardt University in Waleska, GA. He graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1996, and completed his Masters of Music Education Degree at Reinhardt University in 2013. In addition to his collegiate experience, Rob has spent more than 15 years in public schools. Rob has been a lecturer, clinician and adjudicator throughout Georgia in the fields of music education, concert band, marching band, and jazz. As a performer, Rob has performed with Noel Gallagher, Tito Puente, Louis Bellson, Marian McPartland, Rufus Reid, Hal Crook, Marshal Royal, Jon Faddis, Diane Schuur, Paquito D’Rivera, Claudio Roditi, Under the Streetlamp, and many more. Mr. Opitz has performed in local groups in the metro Atlanta Area, including Orquesta MaCuba, the Georgia Symphony Orchestra Jazz Ensemble, the Atlanta Pops Orchestra, US Beat, Atlanta Beat, the Brasstown Big Band, and the Joe Gransden Big Band. He resides in the metro Atlanta area with his family.
