Biography

Dr. Robert Fant is Assoc. Professor at CUHK Shenzhen School of Music. He has performed across the world holding positions on all continents (except Antarctica!), recorded for SONY, BBC, Apple TV, Netflix, DG, Naxos. He is also faculty for Rocky Ridge Center. Fant has held positions with the LCO (Mozart), ACO, Teatro de Santiago, Phil. der Nation (Berlin), Auckland, Verbier, and the Sym. of India. Performed as a guest with; i.e. Halle, BBC Phil., NCPA, Taiwan National, LPO, Wiesbaden, Rudolstadt, Hannover, Boston Pops, IRIS, Boston, San Antonio, Indianapolis, Dallas Winds, Alabama, Spokane, RSNO, Bavarian Orchestra. He was an apprentice for the Vienna Phil.(Attergau) under Tombock.

Robert will make his Carnegie recital debut, Thailand Brass, and Pineywoods artist appearance in ‘24. Past concerts include Steinway Artist, Wigmore, and the Aspen Recital series. He can be heard on labels i.e. DG, NAXOS, BBC Radio+TV, Apple, Netflix, Medici, Reference, and NPR. He is the recent winner of the Classical Music Award and Charleston International. He has been a part of awards for Lesser Foundation, GRAMMYs, and a Qantas. He is the only horn on SONY’s “The Tattooist” and was multi-tracked for the score. He has soloed with; North State Sym., Denton Orch., National Orch., Kolkata Sym. Orch., North England Institute Orch. Chamber premieres at Wigmore, Cadogan, and with Ewazen. He is an adjudicator of competitions and a member of the Guinness World Records for the largest horn choir ‘19
