XO Artist Chris Miertschin using his 1650 Double horn with the Salina Symphony! #Repost @miertschinmusic ・・・ Last weekend marked the finale of my third season with the @salina_symphony and it was a good one! Bright Sheng’s work was a beautiful way to open the concert, and Brahms 1 on second horn is no joke, but so fun to play! #XOBrass #Horn #orchestra
Honolulu Wind Ensemble first trumpet Mike Matrasko has joined XO Brass Instruments as a brand advocate, bringing a wealth of experience and passion to the XO family. Having honed his craft under the tutelage of Scott Hall and Mark Minasian, Matrasko's journey in the world of brass instruments has been marked by dedication and excellence. Matrasko applauds the rich tones and versatility of XO C and Piccolo trumpets, finding them indispensable in adapting to various musical ensembles. "I look forward to sharing the wonderful experiences I've had with XO instruments with others,” Matrasko reflects. “I didn’t know I could enjoy playing a C trumpet until I got the 1624. My students experiment with instruments like the C trumpet, A pipe and Bb pipe piccolo, and it's clear they have a difficult time handing them back when classes are over!” In addition to playing first trumpet with the Honolulu Wind Ensemble since 2019, Matrasko has also been a member of the Mike Lewis and Friends Big Band for six years. Beyond his own musical endeavors, Matrasko has been imparting his knowledge to the next generation of trumpet players, teaching trumpet fundamentals, technique, jazz composition, and arranging since 2008. "We are thrilled to welcome Mike Matrasko to the XO Brass family," says John Richardson, Artist & Educator Relations Manager for XO. "His talent, dedication, and passion for the craft perfectly align with our values, and we look forward to having him as a brand advocate.” Mike's artist page: https://www.xobrass.com/us/artists/mike-matrasko #xobrass
