David Grott has been a freelance trombonist and bass trombonist in Montreal since 1986, doing concerts, shows, musical theatre, and studio work. David has performed on hundreds of studio recordings, and can be heard on CD's by Sarah Mclachlan, Cirque du Soleil, Celine Dion, Ginette Reno, Robert Charlebois, Offenbach, Daniel Lavoie, Les Colocs, Oliver Jones, Vic Vogel, Sonny Greenwich, Christine Jensen, Lorraine Desmarais, and Joe Sullivan among many others.
David is presently the lead trombone player in the Christine Jensen Big Band, Joe Sullivan Big Band, Altsys Jazz Orchestra , L'Orchestre National de Jazz de Montreal, and Vic Vogel's Le Jazz Big Band. David is also on the faculty at both McGill & Concordia Universities teach jazz trombone performance.
David has also toured extensively in the United States and Asia with musical theatre productions such as An American In Paris, The King And I, Chicago, 42nd Street, and many others.
