Keith Douglas

I've played on a number of manufacturers' pro models over the years and never before has a trumpet felt so well-rounded, yet laser-sharp on upper register attack and ease of range. The 1600I has truly been a game-changer for my confidence on stage - I just can't play it enough!
Keith Douglas

Biography

Keith has been playing trumpet professionally for a quarter of a century. He got his start in 1997 with the international touring ensemble, Mad Caddies. He then went on to round out the indescribable, San Francisco-based sextet, King City and in 2011 he joined the highly acclaimed, Mariachi el Bronx. The latter went on to become somewhat of a staple on late-night television and remains his primary focus to this day.

Douglas has appeared as a guest performer with many highly renowned live acts, including Portugal. The Man, Cake, Los Lobos, Manu Chao & NOFX to name a few. He, individually, as well as with el Bronx, has lent his talents on a number of studio sessions for artists such as Madness and TV themes and performances for programs like Showtime's Weeds (and even Yo Gabba Gabba!).

After a nearly two-year, unplanned hiatus as a result of the pandemic wreaking havoc on the entertainment industry, the band returned to energetic crowds this winter, in both NY & CA. In honor of last fall's 10-year anniversary of the release of 2011’s eponymously named studio album, Mariachi el Bronx (II), they have pressed a limited run of special picture disc vinyl. 2022 holds promise for some early moves in the songwriting process and an eventual return to the recording studio for another effort from the band.
