Dr. Scott Garlock has taught at Mount Union College, Knox College and currently runs the jazz and low brass area at Ashland University. In addition to being a member of CJO, he is also a member of the Cleveland Pops Orchestra and the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra. He also served as president (and helped create) the state jazz education organization (JECO) and served the same capacity for OH-IAJE before that. Scott was a consultant for the eighth edition of Jazz Styles and Analysis. At the University of Notre Dame Collegiate Jazz Festival, Scott was given a judge’s citation by pianist Benny Green for his “Positive, Spirited Direction.” Scott is a Jupiter Wind artist/clinician who has recorded on over a hundred albums and commercials.
